Networking and Appearance: A great way to find a job is through networking. Think about jobs that friends have, talk to people you know from school, sports, and any other activities that you participate in. Interview someone in the line of work that you are interested in and find out how they got started. Just remember to be professional. Appearance really does matter-- is your dress and behavior indicative of your abilities? Even when you're just picking up applications, dress up. You never know, the manager might be the one you speak with and first impressions are critical.
Applications: When filling out applications and your resume, don't be discouraged by a lack of work experience. Instead, emphasize your strengths and skills that are applicable to the job. List volunteer work and keep in mind that odd jobs like babysitting and landscaping are real jobs. Ask others what you are good at.
